This is my current safe ingredient list. This list is always evolving with items that I have tested and does not necessarily align with other salicylate-focused diet sites.

MEATS

Chicken organic breast (no pumping, juices or additives)

Beef (leaner cuts of meat like NY strip or sirloins, beef stew)

Ground Beef – 90% Lean

Fish (Cod, Trout etc, Salmon seems to be problematic for me, may be fatty content)

Eggs – Organic, free range with humane seal

Tuna – canned in water

Note regarding chicken products: I’m suspicious of some chicken producers, as they use salicylates as chicken feed to reduce inflammation in flocks.

IMPORTANT: No processed meats, deli or lunch meats, fast / restaurant foods, commercial products of any kind)

DAIRY

Whole Milk – (Not organic, which is ultra-pasteurized)

Butter Unsalted – (simple ingredients)

Yogurt Plain – whole organic (homemade is safer)

Cheeses (whole fat simple ingredient cheeses like real Italian parmesan, or English / Irish cheddars)

Cottage cheeses  – whole milk and full fat

Ice Cream – Homemade only with homemade caramel

Note: No processed dairy, (check ingredients, large commercial companies use additives)

GRAINS

Flour Wheat Unbleached (preferably organic)

Homemade Bread

Homemade Pasta

Sushi rice is suppose to be OK, (not sure yet)

FRUITS

Pears – Peeled Bartlett

Bananas (low-salicylates, moderate amount)

VEGTABLES

White, Russet or New Potatoes Peeled

Carrots peeled organic- small amount roasted seems fine (Medium Salicylates content)

Shallots

Brussels Sprouts (moderate amount)

BEANS

Chickpeas / Garbanzo – moderate amounts

Other varieties I haven’t tried yet
