The symptoms can be similar to other illnesses, but I’ve tried to sort out symptoms ranging from initial salicylate exposure to prolonged exposure that I currently personally experience, or have experienced prior to discovering that I had a salicylate intolerance and while chronically ill.

Short term immediate exposure

  • Red lips
  • Clear running nose
  • Heart palpitations
  • Flush face
  • Flush toes
  • Acne / Hives (within days)
  • Artificial Fatigue
  • Indigestion & bloating
  • Diarrhea or loose bowel movements
  • Mucus producing bowel movements

  • Migraine-like headaches
  • Severe indigestion and bloating
  • Nasal sores
  • Neck/Back aches
  • Hand tremors
  • Nervous system twitches
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain

  • Colitis bleeding
  • Skin rashes
